Not Enough-Matthew 7:21

Saturday 10 September 2011

Hey there,

Source

Yesterday's open heavens devotional topic was scary. When I read the memory verse, it shook me. Matthew 7.21 says "Not everybody that saith unto me,Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven"
In order words, not every minister, born again christian or church goer will go to heaven.
Ah Lord have mercy!

It informs that there are somethings that we as human beings may think is alright to do in the sight of God but really they are not right. It says that if we have lived a holy life before and now we are not that holy, its the latter that counts. To enter to Kingdom of God, we have to be holy according to the will of God. Forsaking unholiness and cleaving to His word/remaining holy and obedient to Him.
It went further to say that miracles are not enough to take one to heaven, so counting the amount of miracles that God has done through you, does not guarantee progression to heaven. Being saved alone is not enough to progress to heaven. Working for God and doing everything in Church but not having a personal relationship with Him is also not enough.

According to what I understand, serving God in holiness + working for Him + having a personal relationship with Him are amongst the requirements to progress to the higher place and claim your sit at His right hand side.

May God help us........
